Keys

"Keys"
I have had the strangest desire recently to do some odd photo shoots that would be fantastic, in my opinion.

One of those strange desires have been to tie keys to a tree.
Not your average teenage girl thought. I know.

But anyway, I had the opportunity to do so, with my tall grandma helping. I wanted to use string, but I did not want to waste my grandmother's or my mother's string. However, I've had some green yarn sitting around with my craft stuff for half a year now. So I decided to use that.

Plus my dad just that day had gone through all his old keys and was going to throw out a whole ton of them. I convinced him to give them to me.

The photos did not come out exactly as I wanted, because I did not have the ideal lens.
I plan on going out soon and doing the same thing with a different lens with a smaller depth of field in order to blur the background and cause the keys to stand out more. However, I am pleased with the outcomes of some of them.

The first 3 pictures are suppose to resemble someone taking the key to your heart and keeping it.

The next group is just a bunch of portraits I took. The theme is also suppose to be lonely/sad/upset/stressed - like someone you loved has just run off with the key to your heart.
(I'm saying "key to your heart" a lot . . . can you guess what the theme of the entire photo shoot was?)

I see many edits with the same object falling/floating around, and I've been wanting to try one for a while. So I had some spare time one day and tried it out. This was the outcome:

"None of these fit - because you ran off with the key to my heart."

And lastly, is a before/after picture of my key edit:

Comment which picture was your favorite! :)

  1. Wow. Wonderful concept, I really like the idea with the bottle and how you made a little Story out of a simple shooting. :)

  2. You look beautiful in every single photo you post. :) I love the color of your eyes. You have inspired my friends and me to try photography also. I hope someday I could meet you AND your camera! :)
